Fuel Injection Gasoline Engine

Unlike the EGI (electronic gasoline injection), the direct fuel injection gasoline engine only induces air from the air intake path while the fuel is injected directly into the cylinder. Through use of the lean-burn flow control mechanism, superior stratified combustion has been made possible under a wide range of driving conditions, bringing significant increases in fuel efficiency at every speed. The control logic has been improved to provide a quicker fuel supply in response to the opening and closing of the accelerator. This significantly improves acceleration and deceleration responsiveness.

1997 Frankfurt Motor Show

Mazda Motor Corporation will exhibit an all-new 626 Station Wagon at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show - open to the public from 11 to 21 September. The new Mazda 626 Station Wagon will complete the line-up of the new Mazda 626 series' three distinctive and dynamic body styles: the Station Wagon, the 5-door Hatchback and the 4-door Sedan. The new 626 Station Wagon is scheduled to be launched in the beginning of 1998 in Europe.

Mazda will also exhibit at the show its latest concept cars, the Mazda SW-X and Mazda MS-X. These cars have a clearly focused concept and show how new technologies can be applied. Advanced technologies that will be on display include the Compact Direct Injection Diesel Engine and the Direct Fuel Injection Gasoline Engine.
