The upgraded Mazda Laputa delivers cleaner emissions, improved safety, and an enhanced interior. The new micromini Laputa goes on sale today at Mazda Autozam dealerships throughout Japan.
Laputa is designed to deliver maximum utility in a minimum space while providing a smooth, comfortable ride. Its attractive styling, excellent maneuverability, and easy handling make it a micromini that embodies the stylish, insightful, and spirited Mazda brand personality.
Laputa's latest improvements include lower emissions (50% below the exhaust emissions limit value for the year 2000, thus qualifying it for the "excellent low-emissions vehicle" (XE) classification), and a lightweight, impact-absorbing body designed to withstand offset front collisions at speeds of 64 km/h. In addition, the design of the instrument panel, meter panel, and seat upholstery fabric has been changed, enhancing comfort and giving the interior a refreshed appearance. While incorporating these upgrades, the new Laputa remains at approximately the same price level.
The company expects to sell 400 units per month.
