New Laputa Changes
- Emissions 50% below the exhaust emissions limit value for the year 2000 for "excellent low-emissions vehicle" (XE) classification.
- Models equipped with a turbo engine (XE Extra, XG, S) quality for "good low-emissions vehicle" classification.
- All models equipped with lightweight, impact absorbing body designed to withstand offset front collisions at speeds of 64 km/h.
- New instrument panel design provides better legibility and improved ease of operation.
- The meter panel has also been redesigned. S grade models feature sporty meters including a tachometer, while XE, XE Extra, and XG grade models are equipped with highly legible silver meters.
- The seat backs are larger and the seat upholstery fabric has been changed for improved appearance and enhanced comfort.
- The driver's seat is equipped with a "seat lifter" function (XE models excluded) that allows the height of the seat cushion to be adjusted to match the driver's body size. On 4-wheel-drive models, the driver's seat is equipped with a seat heater (XE models excluded).
- Except for the XE grade, all models are equipped with dark tinted windows as standard.
- XG grade models feature a 2-DIN size cassette audio system with a CD player and AM/FM radio as standard equipment.
