Mazda Motor Corporation has started selling a limited edition Demio LX-Special at Mazda, Mazda Anfini, and Mazda Autozam dealerships throughout Japan.
The Demio, which created a new "compact wagon" genre when introduced in August 1996, is one of Mazda's best-selling products. Its compact body makes it easy to park and to maneuver in traffic or in a multi-level parking lot. Its roomy and comfortable interior, stylish appearance, flexible and creative seat arrangements, and responsive handling and performance make it a pleasure to own and drive.
The LX-Special is based on the automatic transmission 1.3-liter LX-G model. A number of special features have been added, designed to appeal to younger customers who generally have strong interest in fashion and want to enjoy an individual life style. Blue custom seat upholstery matches blue highlights on both sides of the center panel and the door trim, which together look both distinctive and harmonious. A black and gray two-tone instrument panel and a black steering wheel enhance sportiness. Interior equipment includes a CD player and an aldehyde elimination air filter, and the stylish exterior features a rear spoiler and 14-inch tires.
LX-Special, a real value with appealing equipment at an affordable price, costs 126,000 yen less than the standard model with the same equipment. It is available in four colors: innocent blue, sunlight silver, pure white, and brilliant black.
The company will build just 7,500 units of this special model, available only in Japan.
