City Runner II Limited Edition Bongo Friendee

Mazda Motor Corporation announces the release of the City Runner II, a limited edition version of the Bongo Friendee featuring aerodynamic accessories. It goes on sale today at Mazda and Mazda Anfini dealerships throughout Japan.


With its roomy interior, flexible seat arrangements, and automatic "auto free top" configuration, which creates an upper "loft" space, the Bongo Friendee embodies Mazda's brand personality, especially the "insightful" aspect.

The limited edition City Runner II is based on the two-wheel-drive RS-V, 2.0-liter gasoline engine, normal roof and "auto free top" models. It is equipped with aerodynamic exterior accessories for a sporty look. The seats are upholstered with jacquard moquette fabric, providing a classy interior feel. Convenient equipment includes twin fully automatic air conditioners.

All of these additional features come only at a modest price. City Runner II costs 216,000 yen or 311,000 yen less than the existing normal roof model or the "auto free top" model with the same equipment. This represents a saving of about 75,000 yen in comparison with the limited edition City Runner (available in normal roof version only), the popular limited version released in September. Especially, this "auto free top" model is a great value: it costs only 250,000 yen more than the normal roof model (the existing "auto free top" model costs 350,000 yen more than the normal roof model).

Mazda will build only 1,450 units of this special model, available only in Japan.

Interior
- Jacquard moquette fabric seat upholstery and door trim
- Center armrests for the seats in the second and third rows

- Twin fully automatic air conditioners (with rear heater function)
- Easy-to-close sliding door
- Large ottoman-style footrest
- Sound system with AM/FM tuner and four speakers
